FILIPA MOTA
Filipa Mota has been engaged with music for as long as she can remember. Her official education started at 6 years old on the piano and developed into a lifetime commitment to art, specifically music.

She graduated from ESMAE (Porto-PT) and Conservatorium Van Amsterdam (NL) with degrees in classical piano, and from Koninklijk Conservatorium (Den Haag-NL) and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel-CH) with degrees in Early Music - Viola da Gamba. Filipa performs regularly around the world on the viola da gamba as a part of ensembles including Hesperian XXI (Jordi Savall), Sollazzo Ensemble (Anna Danilevskaya), Gli Incogniti (Amandine Beyer) and Profetti della Quinta (Elam Rotem), among others.

Filipa is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of the musical language to children, and has more than 20 years of experience teaching piano.

Filipa believes that music is a way for children to express themselves from early on in their lives, and that the teacher’s task is to assist their students in mastering the technical means to this expression.

She is particularly fascinated by working on self-motivation with her students, and how, as a teacher, she can best adapt to each one of them.
